GASABO  - Kimironko Christian Gospel Fellowship Church has donated different scholastic materials to three hundred primary pupils to prepare for the new academic year. Most schools across the country start their new term today.

The donation, which includes books, pens, pencils, uniforms and Bibles, was handed over on Saturday at the church grounds in Kimironko Sector, Gasabo District.

Pastor Etienne Ruganzura said the offer will benefit selected pupils from poor families and orphans.

He explained that the donation was prompted after realising that many of his church members struggle to keep their children in school.

The donation was organised through Abana b’umwami (Children of God) fundraising events in the US.

"We decided to form a project that would at least help our members to afford taking their children to school with required materials," he said.

Parents whose children benefited from the offer applauded the church’s initiative and promised to put it to good use.
