NYAGATARE - Police in Nyagatare district, on Wednesday, impounded a vehicle carrying illicit drugs in Matimba sector.

The pickup truck, Reg no. RAB 623A, was carrying 94 cartons of Suzie, a local brew made from neighboring Uganda, according to Police.

"We were conducting routine night patrol when we came across a loaded pick up. We stopped it and the driver attempted to speed off,” Police said.

Police identified the driver as Désiré Rugengamanzi, who had come from Kigali on a working mission in Rwamagana district. 

Rugengamanzi declined to speak to the press.
