Ghanaian central midfielder Augustine Henneh has confirmed that he has reached an agreement to join Rwandan Premier League side Gasogi United on a short term deal.
Henneh played for Al Nasr club of Egypt this season but terminated his contract in October 2022 as the club struggled to pay his wages, prompting him to force a move out of the club.
He joins ‘ambitious’ Gasogi on a five-month deal that will keep him at the club till the end of the season.
"My agent and I have finished talks with Gasogi and an agreement has been reached," Henneh told Times Sports.
"I will play for Gasogi till the end of the season and, after that, we will see whether I extend the deal," he added.
The player confirmed that every detail of the deal has been finalized and he will put pen to paper as soon as he arrives in Kigali in a week or two weeks’ time.
Henneh was one of standout central midfielders in the Ghana Premier League where he featured for Berekum Chelsea until 2021.
He moved to Prison Leopards FC in Zambia in August 2021 and spent just a season before being signed by Al Nasr of Egypt in 2022.
Gasogi finished fourth in the first round of the 2022/23 Rwanda Premier League season and are bent on strengthening their team as they hope to win the title for the first time in their history.
