Society Debate: Do revealing clothes encourage immorality?

No they don’t. If it is true that we indeed evolved from apes then am not surprised that people are wearing less clothes. But then in the beginning, man never wore anything. It was after enjoying things he had sternly been told to stay away from, that he got to cover himself a bit.

No they don’t.

If it is true that we indeed evolved from apes then am not surprised that people are wearing less clothes. But then in the beginning, man never wore anything. It was after enjoying things he had sternly been told to stay away from, that he got to cover himself a bit.

I strongly believe that the only thing wrong about revealing clothes is wearing them at the wrong time and in the wrong place. Why should a man get stupid ideas in his head when he sees a girl at a party with her cleavage showing? It’s not like she was wearing that in a church!

Back in the day when women walked around with their breasts all over the place there was no criticism because that was how it was. We started off by wearing nothing so people shouldn’t be shocked when someone has the decency to go out at least half dressed.

These clothes are there to be worn, not buy animals but by people.

Africans always say that women are getting spoiled by the western culture and are forgetting their roots. Correct me if I am wrong but aren’t our roots in the bush and who had time for clothes then? At least commend them for wearing something.

Revealing clothes are not a problem. It’s people with dirty minds that are. You could be dressed like a nun and still have some sick guy wondering what it’s like underneath your clothes. People will do all sorts of evil because they want to, not because something encouraged it.

If every revealing item of clothing were to be banned would rape or other evil acts stop? Would a cheating married man stop calling his mistress because she’s now all covered up? Would the dirty thoughts that crop up in some men’s heads all of a sudden disappear?

The only way that can happen is if women were wiped off the face of the planet. And even then, that’s no guarantee that the evil in these idle minds will end.

People need to fight their own temptations and not let material things determine their actions. Wearing a mini skirt does not mean a girl is calling for rape. Immorality is all in the head and if your brain is in your pants then that’s really sad.

There is no law that says a girl can’t wear a mini so why should a guy behave as if she is breaking the law and therefore he should too? It is a free world and women are entitled to dress whichever way they see fit.

If you can’t handle or keep up with the evolution of clothes, I suggest you shift to another planet because it will just continue.

What we don’t understand is that the problem is not with the clothes but with us. We try to find all sorts of excuses to cover up for our evil ways. Nothing can justify rape, defilement or any kind of sexual harassment.

We don’t have to act like savages every time a woman walks on the street wearing a top showing her belly or a skirt exposing her thighs. That is why they say Africa will never develop!

No matter how advanced our nation is or gets, if we are not civilized then it is all a waste of time. We might as well go back to living in the bush.
