Editor,
Now that the wheat has been separated from the chaff at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa, I can hardly wait for the ‘real’ football to begin. The quarter-finals will have games as tasty as Argentina-Germany and Brazil-Holland.
While I certainly enjoyed some of the games in the preliminary rounds, I watch the World Cup to see the best play against the best. On another note, I want to wish the best for Ghana in their match against Uruguay; they are on the cusp of history and they must seize the moment.
Watching Spain trounce Portugal, although it was a one-nil score line, was an eye opener. I thought the Spanish were a tad bit overrated, but I have seen the light. They are a truly wonderful team.
