For many real football fans, you would agree with me when I say that Argentina have closed the gap on rivals Brazil as the favorites to win the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

And you would also agree me when I say that Messi has no match in world football and if he can lead Argentina to the world title, he could be recognized as possibly the greatest football player ever.

The little Barcelona forward has for long been criticized for not bringing his club form to the national team but in South Africa, although we haven’t seen a goal from him, he has been at the heart of most of Argentina’s creativity and goal scoring opportunities.

After four matches of their campaign, Maradona’s teams has produced a confident, attacking and decisive performances to beat S.Korea, Nigeria, Greece and Mexico thereby sending a warning to their rivals.

Messi is relishing his role he has been allocated at the World Cup, playing behind Higuain and Tevez--problem is, when he gets the ball every rival player around him tries to kick him but he has stayed focused.

The attacking display in the four games played so far has been brilliant to watch and showed Argentina can win this World Cup with a little bit of luck.
