We reported, yesterday, that more than 2500 students had graduated with technical skills from various institutions within the Southern Province. These students now have the skills that will offer them the opportunity to make it in life.

There is a perceived fear among fresh graduates that life is going to get complicated unless they readily find jobs. However, in today’s world, nothing comes on a silver platter. The fresh graduates should not sit back and wait for employment. They too can become job creators.

The Government has set up structures to help young graduates kick start their employment lives. By joining hands and forming cooperatives, they can come up with viable steady projects that can generate incomes.

Various financial institutions in the country, today, are calling for business proposal that require funding. Institutions such as the National Youth Council have budget allocations for youth who would like to start up businesses.

And considering that with technical schools, the students graduate with marketable skills, since their education is hands-on, they do have an added advantage.

From a larger perspective, the Rwandan economy will benefit too. Once the numbers of skilled employees keeps rising, there will be more job creators than job seekers, and this will help reduce unemployment.
