Primus Cup winner to pocket Rwf 5m

Ferwafa and Bralirwa signed a three year sponsorship deal this year in which the Brewing Company committed Rwf 335m, which included Rwf 33m for a pre-season tournament-Primus Cup over the next two seasons.

THE winner of the inaugural Primus Cup, a curtain raiser for next season’s Primus League will be given Rwf5m in prize money, Ostine Arinaitwe reports.

Ferwafa and Bralirwa signed a three year sponsorship deal this year in which the Brewing Company committed Rwf 335m, which included Rwf 33m for a pre-season tournament-Primus Cup over the next two seasons.

Ferwafa Vice President Raoul Gisanura also revealed to Times Sport that each top flight club would receive Rwf2m to prepare for the tournament slated for mid-August.
"It is going to be one of the most exciting and competitive tournaments in Rwanda’s football history.”

"It will also help players get in shape for the league,” Gisanura said.

The runners-up will pocket Rwf3m while Rwf2m has been staked for the third team.

12 teams from the top flight will be drawn into four groups were the top two sides in each pool will qualify for the quarter-finals.
