THE national U-20 team-the Junior Wasps is scheduled to start training this morning ahead of the Africa Youth Championship first round qualifier against Congo Brazzaville on June 24.
As expected, the bulk of the team constitutes players from APR, Rayon Sport, Etincelles Kiyovu and Electrogaz. The only surprise inclusion in the team is Ibrahim Itangishaka, who features for Rwanda’s U-17 side.
"The pre-selected players have what it takes to play well at this level. They have the quality and now need to gel as a team,” the team’s coach Sellas Tetteh said.
The first leg will be played on July 24 while the return leg will be staged in Kigali on August 14.
