Grizzlies rugby club coach Alphonse Umugire believes his guns can end Buffaloes’ dominance by winning this year’s league title.

The two clubs clash this afternoon at Huye stadium with the youthful Grizzlies team banking on their experienced trio; Ignace Nsanzimana (winger), Jean Pierre Umuhoza (full back) and former silverbacks star Stephen Mutaasa to spur them on against an experienced Buffaloes side that has won three league titles on the trot.

Umugire reckons that his side, which finished second, last year, is ready to push for the title.

"We need a good start and that means winning tomorrow’s (today) match to give us the necessary confidence to push for the title.”

"We all know that Buffaloes are an experienced and well balanced side but we have a target and we are fully focused on it,” They (Buffaloes) are an experienced side but I have confident in my young side not only to win this match but challenge for the title,” Umugire, who is also a former Grizzlies scrum half said.

The other match will pit Sharks against Puma in Kamonyi.
