WHILE Saturday’s Primus league clash between champions APR and Rayon Sport is of little significance, Blues interim coach Emmanuel Ruremesha expects his guns to push for a win.

The 2009/2010 league title is already in APR’s trophy cabinet but Rayon can cement third place if they beat the army side.

Ruremesha, who took over from Baptista Kayiranga, insists that pride is one thing Rayon will play for this afternoon.
"This club has under achieved over the last four to five years and it is no secret that the fans would feel reassured if we beat APR,” he said.

The APR-Rayon game is one of the biggest and most thrilling clashes in the region although in recent years, the military side have dominated proceedings after winning 11 league titles in sixteen years.

Last season, APR and Rayon drew  0-0 and 2-2 in the league but Blues captain Albert Nyumbayire wants a win to fend off competition from Kiyovu for third place.
"The morale in the team is high and we need to beat or draw APR to finish third,” Nyumbayire said.
Rayon and APR are also slated to meet in the MTN Peace Cup final on July 4.

Else where, Etincelles will square off with Electrogaz at Umuganda stadium while Kiyovu host Police at Mumena in another thrilling match.

In Nyamagabe, Marine will take on Amagaju as the relegation battle heats up. With 18 points, Marines are two points ahead of bottom placed Amagaju.

Having won this year’s Primus league, APR will have another shot at the Caf Champions league next season despite a dismal show this year where they fell to TP Mazembe.
