Deadly riots have engulfed Kenya since last Sunday following a disputed presidential election which gave incumbent President Mwai Kibaki, a second term.
Kibaki’s main rival Raila Odinga claims there was massive poll rigging.
"Rwandans here are safe. We have instructed them not to make unnecessary movements; they should only go to towns when it is inevitable,” Kayonga said by telephone from Nairobi yesterday.
Meanwhile, Commerce minister Protais Mitali said that yesterday trucks carrying Rwanda-bound merchandise from Kisumu and Eldoret had been escorted through Busia and Malaba borders.
An estimated 350 people have so far died in the valance which has displaced over 100,000 people.
