Emile Murekezi is the Marketing, Product Development and Finance Manager of Igihe.com, a Kinyarwanda news website with 20,000 visitors per day.

Born on December 10, 1986, in Nyarugenge, Emile is the last born in a family of five- 3 boys and 2 girls.

He attended primary at EP Muhima, Petit Seminaire Saint Vincent de Paul Ndera for Secondary education and is pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering at Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST)

"Igihe.com is a news website that was started by students from National University of Rwanda Butare, KIST, SFB and ULK all pursuing different courses,” Emile narrates

Even though they started as a group, some of them keep leaving and coming back because they attend different universities.

He said: "Besides me, other proprietors of the website include; Meilleur Murindabigwi (CEO), Jules Murekenzi, Willy Liambi (Technical officer), and Moses Tuyishime.

Since it’s a news website we have journalists although some of them are still students. Most news stories are original and covered by our journalists but some are from agencies. 

However, we offer several services and products such as advertisements, online event coverage and consultancy in IT (Web designing).”

Despite of the fact that Emile Mulekezi is still pursuing his studies, he has to run different errands for Igihe.com.

"I’m able to balance work and studies since most of my dealings are done on phone and the clients are intellectuals who already know our products,” says Emile

Meilleur Murindabigwi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Igihe.com said: "Besides Emile being hilarious and friendly, he played a great role while starting up Igihe.com,”

Regardless of his age Emile speaks with authority and one can instantly appraise that he is a job creator not a job seeker.

Fabrice Gatera, one of Emile Mulekezi‘s friends said: "He has a sense of leadership and quite innovative in nature even when something seems to be out of reach, Emile is no quitter.”

When asked to give his opinion on Technology and Dating Emile said:
"The use of technological advancements such as Phones and Internet act as ingredients in a relationship most especially in long-distance relationships. If someone is shy they are able to express their true feelings using the gadgets. However to some extent they have become relationship breakers an example is the social website networks.”

"Igihe.com has got the social network aspect know as ‘Umuryango’ although it’s not been active due to technical maintenance. The visitors of our website can create a profile page and can receive comments about their status from other visitors of the website,” Emile explains.

Emile is single and searching although the woman of his dream must be ‘God fearing, straight forward and caring.’
