NBA star Davis Baron believes Rwandans can also play in the NBA, the world’s most popular and lucrative basketball league. The Los Angeles Clippers star made the remarks after watching a couple of league games over the weekend.

"This is a good experience for me. I am happy to be in Rwanda because it is a great country and I think the level of basketball is promising.”

"With good training and hard work, Rwandans can break through and play in the NBA,” the 31-year-old told Times Sport.

He promised to be a go between for Rwandan basketball and the NBA. Before his departure later today, Boron will conduct a training session with the national side’s U-18 team at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

Davis became a star at Crossroads School and UCLA. In 1999, he was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets as the third pick.

On July 1, 2008 Davis verbally agreed to a 5-year, $65 million dollar deal to play for the Los Angeles Clippers, and officially signed with the Clippers on July 10, 2008.

On November 20 at a home game against the Denver Nuggets, Baron reached and surpassed the 5,000 assist mark.
