Natasha’s Chronicles: : It’s the attitude fellow Rwandan… ATTITUDE!

This is probably one of the words we usually misunderstand or give little value or attention to in our daily lives. Attitude means ‘a state of mind or a feeling or disposition’.

I sense an urgent need for all of us to take more care to build our attitude. You see, I’ve slowly but surely realized just how important attitude is for one to reach their desired goal.

I love to see the kind of attitude in people that says; ‘if it is to be, it is up to me!’. We’re often caught in our dreams envisioning where we want to reach by a certain time or the kind of life we want to live in some time to come- all very important. However, we usually forget that everything comes in its package; in this case, achievement comes with a positive attitude!

I totally agree with the saying I usually hear from our director of studies at school; "attitude not aptitude determines your altitude!” and I think there are many to testify.

If all letters of the alphabet are given a value according to their position, let’s see; what makes your life 100%? Skills= 82%, knowledge= 96%, hard work=98% and attitude= guess what! 100%! They’re all important but attitude beats them all.

Question is what kind of attitude; Right or wrong? Well, with my modest knowledge, I at least know that ‘right attitude produces right actions and right actions produce right results.’ Therefore, the most significant change in one’s life is the change in attitude.

We’ll always come across some people who are faithful advocates for the word ‘change’. Daily, there will be a need for something or someone to be put right around them, even in the tiniest things.

Only God knows whether he is expected to drop change like a mango onto earth, or to send it on the next flight from heaven. But the point here is, be the change you want to see in this world! Let the rest emulate you.

Some of us are surely trying but we mustn’t forget that all our forward steps are governed by our attitude! Whether a glass is half full or half empty depends on the person looking at it!

So Rwandan sister, brother, mother and father, your attitude will determine your; day, week, month, year, also your entire life. Your situation and mood are also products of your attitude. Let’s develop the ‘can do’ attitude.

You can do everything but not all at once, you can do everything but you may not be the best at everything… if you don’t like something, change it.

If you can’t, change your attitude. Don’t complain, because if you really want to be happy, nobody can stop you except yourself!!
