Rwanda Energy Group (REG) will begin title defense when they host Orion in the league opener slated Friday, January 13, as per the 2022/23 Rwanda national league fixtures released by Rwanda basketball federation (FERWABA).
The game, which will take place at Kimironko, basketball ground, is one of four fixtures that will be played on the opening day of the league.
In other fixtures, league runners-up Patriots will visit Kigali Titans at IPRC-Kigali while Espoir will host Shoot 4 Stars at Kimironko ground with IPRC-Kigali set to face UGB at their home court in Kicukiro.
Two more matches will be played on Saturday, January 14, where Tigers will open their league campaign against IPRC-Huye in Kimironko while new-look APR will take on IPRC-Musanze at the outdoor court of Kepler University.
The biggest match of the season, arguably Rwanda’s most famous derby so far, will see REG go head to head with Patriots on February 24 at BK Arena.
The league season will conclude on September 3.
Last season, Rwanda Energy Group (REG) Basketball was retained the Rwanda Basketball League title after a thrilling 84-74 win against Patriots to take the series 3-2.
The champions will represent Rwanda at the 2023 edition of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) that will kick off in March.
