Spectacular fireworks displays lit up Kigali skyline on Sunday, January 1, 2023 to mark the celebration of the New Year 2023. Fireworks were set off from different locations across the city, including Mont Kigali, Mont Rebero, BK Arena, Kigali Convention Center, Mont Bumbogo and Hotel des Mille Collines in the city center.
Fireworks went off at exactly 00hr00 and a couple of minutes later, people posted videos of themselves dancing, singing, hugging, and kissing their loved ones on social media to celebrate the New Year 2023 .
The New Times photographers, Olivier Mugwiza and Craish Bahizi covered the exercise through the lens and brought some pictures that highlight the rolling of the celebration.
