APR football academy has sacked its assistant coach Rene Kalimunda on grounds of indiscipline, Times Sport has learnt.
The academy’s spokesperson Aime Kayinamura said that Kalimunda’s indiscipline was proving to be a distraction to the youngsters.
"He left us no choice as his indiscipline was sending a bad message on the youngsters,” Kayinamura said of the former Rayon Sport coach.
A replacement will be named in the near future.
During the 2005-06 season, Kalimunda guided the Blues to a 15-match unbeaten run, winning 12 and drawing three. He was also instrumental in bringing in several foreign players to the club including Kenyan striker John Baraza, goalkeeper Lawrence Webo and Labama Bokota, who would later cross over to arch rivals APR.
The academy started operational late last year and wasted no time after coasting to last month’s U-17 Copa Coca Cola Championship after edging Ferwafa academy on penalties (4-3).
