Rwanda’s U19 women national cricket team will face Ireland January 11, 2023 in build up game ahead of the maiden edition of the Cricket World Cup that will take place in South Africa.
The Irish team will depart Dublin for South Africa on January 1, 2023 and their Cricket Federation has revealed that they will play preparatory games against Pakistan at the Tuks Oval, Pretoria on January 9 before they round up with another game against Rwanda at Hammanskraal Cricket Club in Gauteng on January 11.
Rwanda head coach Leonard Nhamburo will use the game to assess his squad before his first game against Pakistan whereas the Irish technical bench led by Glenn Queri anticipates the encounter to correct loopholes in the team before their opening World Cup game with West Indies on January 15.
Rwandan young guns, who are in Group B alongside Pakistan, England and Zimbabwe, will leave for South Africa Sunday, January 1, 2023.
In all, 16 teams will compete at the tournament which will be held from January 14 to January 29 in South Africa.
The top three teams in each Group will qualify to the next round of the competition commonly known as the Super Six.
