Jack Ngabonziza, the federation’s Secretary General has confirmed that APR coach Innocent Rwabuhihi will be assisted by Kamonyi coach Jean Pierre Ndacyayisenga.
"We have considered the pair and we have now urged clubs to start preparations for this month’s inter-club championships which will be selection ground for the team that will compete in Nairobi,” said Ngabonziza.
Even without Rwanda’s top athlete Dieudonne Disi, who is still nursing a hamstring injury, the team will be boosted by the quartet of Sylvain Rukundo, Gervais Hakizimana, Jean Baptist Simuceka and Eric Sebahire which is based in Europe.
The Africa Athletics Championship, which will be staged at Nyayo stadium, is expected to attract about 1300 athletes from over 54 countries and competing in 56 disciplines.
