Editor,
This letter is in reference to the article in yesterday’s edition of your newspaper, entitled "Police celebrates 10 years today”.
Please allow me to congratulate the Rwanda National Police on their tenth anniversary. It is indeed very creditable that the RNP has grown from humble beginnings to a becoming a force to reckon with. Their astute officers and men have ensured that Rwanda has remained calm and peaceful over the last decade and they have always been very prompt in bringing law offenders to book.
What is particularly encouraging to note is that women now comprise as much as 19 percent of the total force, which is in keeping with the Government’s policy of providing gender equality.
I am wishing the Rwanda National Police continued success in the coming years in their mission of making Rwanda a country which offers one and all the highest levels of safety and security.
Kind regards
Clarence Fernandes
