I read with deep sadness your issue of 31st December about corrupt Gacaca officials in Rwamagana.

Gacaca was meant to solve problems the country went through not, a few individuals’ financial greed.
With the efforts made by many Gacaca courts, to promote justice, forgiveness and reconciliation, those elements who want to undermine the achievements of Gacaca courts should be given severe punishments that will set an example to the others.

This recommendable justice system might be ruined if corruption is given place and not followed with seriousness.
I urge responsible authorities to try and follow up corruption cases every where else around the country.
