THE Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), has donated Rwf245m to Transparency International Rwanda, to help it further its fight against corruption and promote good governance.
THE Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), has donated Rwf245m to Transparency International Rwanda, to help it further its fight against corruption and promote good governance.
Speaking after the signing at Transparency Rwanda’s headquarters, NPA’s Program Manager, Osodo Patrick, said that they extended the grant to support Transparency International- Rwanda implement its various activities regarding the fight against corruption and promote good governance.
"NPA has enough confidence in the tremendous work which has already been done by Transparency Rwanda in as far as combating corruption and promoting good governance in the country is concerned”
"We have today extended this support in order to enable Transparency- Rwanda implement several programs”.
The Chairperson of Transparency Rwanda, Ingabire Marie Immaculee, thanked NPA for the support saying it’s a strong indication of encouragement in the anticorruption struggle.
Speaking to The New Times, Osodo said that the funds will be used to carry out a study on corruption related to Gender in work places and to carry out a Bribery Index survey.
He revealed that his organization will extend Rwf 500m over the next three years.
The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Ombudsman, Augustin Nzindukiyimana.
