KIGALI Basketball Club (KBC) proved that last weekend’s win over defending champions APR was truly earned when they registered back to back wins over Espoir and Kigali Institute of Education (KIE) at the weekend.

On Saturday, the league debutants beat 2004 league champions Espoir 70-58 before rounding off an even more comfortable win over hapless KIE 84-63 at Amahoro indoor stadium.

Against KIE, KBC point guard Patrick Djunga repeatedly found the net to finish off with a game high 23 points, which constituted five-three pointers.

"We were on top throughout the game and certainly deserved to win. This is a dream start for the team and we just want to maintain the rhythm,” the contented KBC coach Pierre Gategabondo said.

KBC remain top on the national league table with six points, one clear of CSK and Rusizi and two ahead of APR, whose inconsistency continued as they beat Rusizi (90-83) but then lost out to National University of Rwanda (62-88).
