MUHANGA – The National Youth Council (NYC) has encouraged Muhanga youth to participate, in large numbers, in the forthcoming presidential elections slated for August this year. Janvier Dushimiyimana, a council committee member made the call during a meeting to review the achievements made by youth in Rwanda over the last 10 years.
MUHANGA – The National Youth Council (NYC) has encouraged Muhanga youth to participate, in large numbers, in the forthcoming presidential elections slated for August this year.

The meeting was held at the Gitarama cultural centre on June 9, and brought together youth representatives from 12 sectors of the district.
"Youth participation in the forthcoming elections will be of utmost significance as we will be choosing our leader for the next seven years and this calls for each one to take part and encourage others to do likewise” Dushimiyimana said.
The NYC 10th anniversary celebrations were launched in Muhanga district on June 8. Several activities have been earmarked as part of the celebrations ,according to Hodari Marcellin Nsengiyumva, the NYC’s Muhanga coordinator.
Nsengiyumva remarked that youth in Muhanga have made tremendous progress through formation of cooperatives and establishing savings and loan schemes.
"The youth are committed to mobilising others to participate in elections and we shall lead by example and we shall be among the very first citizens to cast our voters come August 9,” he said.
"Elections like any other programme are very significant for the next generation.” William Ntidendereza, an official of Itorero r’Igihugu task force, advised the youth to make good choices in life and play a big role in development.
"The future is in the hands of the youth and they should know how to use their energy, will power, conviction, and commitment…for a better future,” he said.
