All instructors for the unity and reconciliation progammes across the country have been called on to double their efforts in conducting peace, unity and reconciliation campaigns among the population.
The call was made yesterday by the Executive Secretary of the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission (NURC), Jean Baptiste Habyarimana, while officiating at the opening of a one-day seminar for over 30 trainers.
"The work you have done as trainers of unity and reconciliation among Rwandans is very tremendous and remarkable, however, we still have a long way to go. So I encourage you to double your efforts to further promote unity and reconciliation” Habyarimana said.
He requested them to always evaluate themselves which, he said, will help them easily identify where they have progressed and where they still have weaknesses in order to improve.
The Chairman of Itorero Ry’Igihugu Taskforce, Boniface Rucagu, urged participants to always mobilize and sensitize all Rwandans to fight against the Genocide ideology and ethnic discrimination.
He also revealed that over 159,566 civic education instructors (Intore) have been trained since 2007 in the Itorero ry’Igihugu project.
