EACH top flight club will receive Rwf2m to prepare for the Primus Cup, a curtain raiser for next season’s Primus League, Ostine Arinaitwe reports.

Ferwafa and Bralirwa signed a three year sponsorship deal this year in which the Brewing Company committed Rwf 335m, which included Rwf 25m for a pre-season tournament-Primus Cup over the next two seasons.

The tournament is slated for mid-August and according to the Chief Executive Officer of the football federation Jules Kalisa, it will help players start the league in good shape.

"We have earmarked Rwf 2million for each for the twelve clubs to prepare for the tournament. I expect it to be a very competitive competition which will put players in the right shape ahead of the league,” Kalisa said.

Meanwhile, APR remain on course of an unprecedented treble after securing the Primus league last evening following a 4-1 rout against Etincelles. It was their second trophy of the season after the Cecafa Kagame Cup where they beat St. George in the final.

On Saturday, the army side faces Electrogaz in the MTN Peace Cup semi-finals.
