The group was subsequently sworn in by district party officials, at Nyange sector, at a ceremony attended by hundreds of residents.
The new members said that joining the ruling party was one way of showing their commitment to participate in the country’s development programs.
"I feel proud to be identified with the party which has restored unity, security, and brought development to our communities,” 80-year old Anna Marie Mupfasoni said.
Emmanuel Mpazimpaka, the area party commissioner, told the members to show a good example during elections and mobilise other residents ‘to vote wisely and support the party’s manifesto.’
Citing the hard stance against corruption, the group hailed the ruling party for its role in the education, health, and justice sectors.
Innocent Mbajimbere, a party mobiliser, revealed that the sector has over 10,500 members, adding that new entrants are inspired by the party’s past achievements.
