Cameroonians residing in Rwanda this weekend celebrated the 50th anniversary of their country’s independence and reunification. The ceremony was hosted at Noblezza Restaurant in Kicukiro and was organized by the Cameroonian Community Association (CCR).

In his opening remarks, the community’s Secretary General, Landry Tsague, said: "Despite the different political mutations that the country had undergone, Cameroon has admirably remained stable”.

The President of CCR, Emmanuel Tchokou, appreciated the massive turnout of Rwandans and diplomats from other African countries who graced the event.

The Association has a membership of 60, most of who work in UN and other international organizations in the county.

The ceremony was followed by performances from Cameroonian students and also featured a video screening of the history and the socio-cultural diversity of the country.
