MUHANGA – The Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Agnes Kalibata, has encouraged Muhanga residents to improve on service delivery as one of the ways of working towards economic growth and development.
MUHANGA – The Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Agnes Kalibata, has encouraged Muhanga residents to improve on service delivery as one of the ways of working towards economic growth and development.
Kalibata was addressing residents during the celebrations to mark the Tax Payers Day held at Gitarama stadium on June 4.
"Service delivery is key to development and everyone should embrace this culture of offering good services, so as to increase incomes generated in business which ultimately, can promote development at local levels,” she said.
During the occasion, the minister also handed over certificates of appreciation to outstanding tax payers and sectors for promoting business in the district.
Kalibata encouraged residents to promote business development through better service delivery. Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) representative at the function, Ben Kagarama, hailed Muhanga residents for their efforts and collaboration in increasing the country’s tax revenue at the provincial and national levels.
Kagarama also cautioned residents against tax evasion and purchasing goods on the black markets. He said: "Whereas Muhanga was outstanding in paying taxes, there are numerous fraud activities in the area that has come to our attention. Such activities should be avoided in order to promote transparent business practices.”
RRA and the umbrella organization for the country’s business community -Private Sector Federation (PSF) also re-affirmed their commitment to collaborate in promoting entrepreneurship, advocacy and supporting small scale businesses.
