EDITOR,

I would like to commend various provinces for their swift improvement in tax payments.

Last year, the Southern Province contributed Rwf5.5billion in taxes mainly due to the diligent and improved compliance of taxpayers.

Through understanding their tax obligations, Rwandans in these areas have continued to influence the national budget greatly—to be exact by 55 percent.

At this rate Rwanda will overcome dependency on foreign aid once and for all.  Imagining an African country that doesn’t depend on foreign aid is so mind soothing.

As Rwanda races against foreign aid dependency, commitment in tax payment is what matters. Keep up the good work and the results will be beneficial in the near future and for the generations to come.
