SILVERBACKS’ inexperience was fully exposed as they failed to win a game in the highly rated Safaricom 7s tournament which rolled off yesterday in Nairobi, Kenya.
The national side, which was drawn in group C, suffered humiliating defeats against New Zealand first division side Ponsonby 31-0, Hamilton raiders 45-5 and Uganda 26-0.
The defeats did not come as a surprise for Silverbacks care taker coach Gerard Nsenga.
"We played against very good teams so it would be unfair to be so hard on ourselves. On the contrary, it is a good learning curve for the boys,” Nsenga said.
Today, the team will compete in the Bowl category as the top sides contest in the Main Cup.
