Smugglers in Musanzehave made it difficult for us to make profits from the commodities we sell in our shops. These individuals smuggle goods from our neighbouring countries and sell them cheaply than the actual cost of a commodity.
We have been at their mercy for so long and I am relieved that the intervention of Rwanda Revenue Authority- Revenue Protection Department (RRA/RPD) is finally paying off.

Due to their involvement in fighting smugglers, more residents in Musanze are enthusiastic when it comes to paying their taxes. This was reflected by the large crowd that celebrated the taxpayer’s day in Musanze town last week.
