KIGALI - Members of the Senate will today begin a two-day retreat to review the past two years and plan for the year ahead. This will be the fourth and last retreat to be held by the current Senate before the expiration of its 8-year mandate next year.
KIGALI - Members of the Senate will today begin a two-day retreat to review the past two years and plan for the year ahead. This will be the fourth and last retreat to be held by the current Senate before the expiration of its 8-year mandate next year.
According to the programme seen by The New Times, the Senators will meet on Mountain Rebero to discuss values of leadership, the responsibilities of the Senate and exchange ideas on several issues.
The legislators will also tackle the structure, functioning and coordination of various sectors of the Senate. The Director General of Information and Outreach; Augustin Habimana, confirmed the retreat yesterday adding that it would not only bring together Senators, but also Senior staff members.
"Yes, the retreat is on. In fact, it is something that happens every two years where Senators meet to discuss various issues affecting their work and planning for the future,” he said
The retreat will also review the working relationship between the Senate and other administrative institutions.
