Former Atraco striker Athuman Mohammed a.k.a Machupa has blasted the local governing football body, Ferwafa over failure to release his International Transfer Certificate(ITC) to enable him join Tanzania Premier league club Simba SC.
Machupa who talked to Times Sport from Dar es Salaam last week accused Ferwafa officials of getting in the way of his career.
"After I was done with Atraco, I was supposed to return to Tanzania because Simba had shown interest in signing me but Ferwafa refused to release my ITC,” Machupa said.
However, Atraco sold Machupa to Oman club, Fanja for $6000 and that is why his ITC was never issued out to Simba but according to laws, Ferwafa issued Machupa’s ITC to Fanja, a feat which has also forced Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) to intervene.
Nevertheless, Machupa has already denied to have agreed a move to the Oman club and if any deal was reached between Atraco and Fanja, the latter should present documents to prove their claims, he insisted.
Machupa is one of the players recently spotted for trials in Norway and is set to leave for the Scandinavian country in the near future.
TFF said recently that Ferwafa wrongly released the player’s ITC amid confusion that Machupa was contracted by the Oman club.
TFF has issued a temporary ITC Machupa to feature for Simba in both international and domestic competitions as they wait for Fanja club to send the formal ITC they received from Ferwafa.
On the other hand, Fanja who insist the Machupa is their players has reportedly vowed to take the matter to the world’s football governing body, Fifa.
