Salax Awards preparations are in full gear! On Friday Jane 4, 2010, Kigali will host for the first time the Salax Awards.

This year marks the 2nd annual music awards festivity and it will be held at the Petit Stade in Remera at 2:00 p.m. All of the behind-the-scenes backstage excitement of getting the awards is expected.

The award will be presented in different categories including:

Best Male Artist,
Best Female Artist,
Song of the year,
Best Album of the year,
Best Music Group and
Best Cultural Troup.

"Our main aim for the Salax Awards is to reward the best artists and athletes, as well as to motivate them,” said Mike Karangwa, one of the organisers.

He added that, online voting for the Salax nominees through IGIHE.COM will end on Friday before 2:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, each nominee is crossing their fingers and very optimistic to take home an award.

Karangwa said the panel will comprise three experienced judges. Meanwhile, the year’s awards ceremony is alleged to be the best in the making and you can be part of it. Entrance is Rfw3000 and Rfw10.000 for V.I.P.

The Salax Awards are presented annually by the Ikirezi group in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sports for outstanding achievements in the music industry.
The gala will also feature performances by prominent artists.
