DIEUDONNE Disi’s involvement in the forthcoming Africa Senior Championship remains a doubt due to a nagging hamstring injury.
The 29-year-old, who had earlier stated that he would push for a podium finish in the championship, which is scheduled for July 28-August 1 in Nairobi, Kenya, could now be forced to withdraw from the event, which is expected to attract over 1300 athletes from 54 countries.
The athlete is now expected to travel to Holland for further tests on his hamstring.
"I’m going back to Limonde hospital for further check up because the injury has failed to heal,” he said.
The athlete is running out of time if he is to have a shot at this year’s Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India.
Since January, Disi’s best display is a 6th spot in the February Puerto Rico 21Km. In March, he pulled out of the Paris half marathon and also had to rule himself out of last month’s 34th Paris marathon.
