KICUKIRO College of Technology made up for their hasty exit in the RCA Twenty20 tournament with a three wicket victory over Strikerz at Kicukiro Oval.
After restricting the Indian-dominated side to 116, Eric Dusingizimana single-handedly guided KCT home with a patient knock of 60 not out. It was a great all-round display from the national team star who also weighed in with three wickets including the prize wicket of Rakesh Singh, who topped Strikerz’s scoring wheels with 53.
Titans and Right Guards also cemented their slots in the next round after comfortable wins over Young Tigers and National University of Rwanda (UNR) who were only playing their first competitive match.
In the Titan-Young Tigers’ game, Reece Gebhard (2 for 19), Emmanuel Byiringiro (27) and Under-19 star Audifax Byiringiro, all contributed to Titan’s win while Derrick Bayingana’s man of the match performance (5 for 21 and 21 not out) were enough to guide Right Guards to the next round.
The trio together with Indorwa and KCC will now be joined by the best loser in the next round.
