The question that literally millions of people have been asking about Riviera is about to be answered ‘right here and right now’ (by the way, I didn’t copy that phrase from radio); "does Riviera have the international system?”

I always answered no, but now I say not YET!, "and why is that?” ‘Come on’ I sometimes think, ‘no house is built starting from the roof’.

For such a program to be started in some of our schools which still carry on with the colonial curricula it must undergo a 2 year preparation period and so that’s Rivera’s story.

Anyways, I’m proud to announce that Riviera High School will commence the international program of IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education).

This is the world’s most popular international curriculum. The target group is the 14 to16-year-olds and it will kick off with the Cambridge secondary stage 2(the current senior 2 students will be the pioneer students in the program in January, 2011)

By the way, I’m jealous that I don’t get to be a part of such an exciting program simply because God needed me on this earth so early. I wonder why I wasn’t born as my small sister and her as me! (Just kidding) actually good for her and all the others who have the great opportunity to attend the program.

Ladies, gentlemen and children alike, Riviera is going to build a core curriculum and extend it to suit its students and introduce cross-curricular perspectives because Cambridge IGCSE is compatible with other curricula and is internationally relevant and sensitive to different needs and cultures.

The system will develop students’ skills in creative thinking, inquiry and problem solving, giving them excellent preparation for the next stage in their education!

I mean, seriously and ‘leally’ speaking, how much better can it get?? The school administration hopes (for they have no other choice) that the students will find Cambridge qualifications enjoyable and accessible and find success achievable. Well I do too, but I also am sure they will!

The fact that it’s a tangible qualification all over the globe and also the fact that it’s at none other than Riviera, completes the puzzle!

The next part is the sweetest to know so please pay attention! After completion of this program, students will be able to join any university of their choice all over the world since it’s internationally recognized! Parents who might be living your dream, you know how great it feels.

And this right here, is our (your children’s) dream; to join the university of our choice, pursue the course of our choice, be employed and create employment in the place of our choice, all in all BE the person of OUR choice and dream!!
