We made it! Satisfied strike a pose with the officials from Bralirwa after the competition.

On Friday, Bralirwa rewarded the best dancers in a competition dubbed ‘Fanta Dance Fiesta Contest’ at Amahoro Stadium’s Expo ground.

The ceremony was to launch Bralirwa’s new flavour, Fanta Fiesta. Ivan Barihuta won best solo dancer.

He walked away with a cheque of Rfw200.000, while ‘Satisfied’, a group comprising 10 students from Green Hills Academy emerged the best dance group and received a cheque of Rfw500, 0000.

It was quite a surprise, even for the leader of ‘Satisfied’ Flakim Barura, who was in a state of shock following the announcement. "I’m overwhelmed. We didn’t expect to win the competition because dancing is not our profession,” Barihuta said.

"We were  told the type of dance to perform in the competition, which was R&B, African jam and Hip hop and we only practiced for two days, but we had confidence,” Barihuta, the head of ‘Satisfied’ said.

Barihuta vowed that Rfw100.000 of the prize will go to charity. Meanwhile, NWA dance group, the crowds’ favourite performing group came in the 2nd and pocketed Rfw300.000.

28 dance crews and solo dancers from different parts of Kigali had registered for the preliminaries which took place last weekend at Club Rafiki.

Four groups and five solo dancers were selected by the judges Dickson from Radio Contact, actress Natacha Muziramakenga and actor/dancer Hervé Kimenyi.
