KIGALI - SCORES of members of Ntare School Old Boys Association (NSOBA) in Rwanda, together with their counterparts from Uganda, yesterday joined Bugesera residents in the monthly communal work locally known as Umuganda.

The Old Boys joined the residents in clearing bushes on a site where the OBs are planning to build a model secondary school.

The delegation was led by Cabinet Affairs Minister, Protais Musoni, who is also the chairman of the  organizing committee.

"This is in preparation for the ground-breaking ceremony on June 19,” Musoni told The Sunday Times.

He added that Bugesera district was selected for the school because there are few good schools.

"We hope after the construction of the school, Bugesera residents and the whole Rwandan community will be able to benefit from it,” he noted.

The leader of the Ugandan delegation and Headmaster of Ntare School in Uganda, Humphrey Ahimbisibwe, hailed the initiative of building Ntare School in Rwanda saying that it shows the commitment of NSOBA in both countries.

"The NSOBA community proposed to build Ntare School in Rwanda and we bought the idea so we are part of them in this noble cause,” he said.

Louis Rwagaju, the Mayor of Bugesera District, commended NSOBA for their initiative to build a model school in the area.

"The people from Bugesera are set to benefit a lot from the school, especially quality education and employment opportunities,” he said.
