APR skipper Patrick Mafisango has admitted that after ejecting Kenyan giants Sofapaka, his team has the quality and confidence to go on and lift this year’s Kagame Cup title.

APR reached the final after Wednesday’s 1-0 semi-final win over Sofapaka, in the process becoming the only side in the tournament to score against the Kenyans in normal time of play.

Mafisango now believes the team can go on and lift their third regional title.

"We have a really complete squad. The defence, midfield and striking line are all compact,” he noted.

"Our major concern was TP Mazembe but they are now history so there is no reason why we can not finish off the job this Saturday,” Mafisango who has been linked with Tanzania’s Simba said.

The Amavubi international is now regarded as one of the most complete defenders in Rwanda.

Against Sofapaka, Malawi International Chiukepo Msowoya scored the winning goal to take his goal tally to six.

The military side played for 70 minutes with ten men after Tchimanga Mutamba was red carded for a premeditated foul on Kenyan player Anthony Kimani.

In 2004, APR lifted their first regional title after beating Kenya’s Ulinzi 3-1. Three years later, the military side was back at it, this time edging Uganda Revenue Authority 2-1.
