THE National Insurance Corporation of Rwanda (Sonarwa) has boosted this year’s edition of Coupe du Rwanda with Rwf1.9m.
The Executive Secretary of the National Volleyball federation (FRVB) Gertrude Kubwimana said that the insurance company’s timely contribution would go a long way in making the tourand Kimisagara courts. The finals, scheduled for Sunday, will be played at Amahoro.
So far, seven male teams have registered for the two-day event and they include champions APR, Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC), National University of Rwanda (UNR), UNATEK, Kigali Institute of Education (KIE), Lycee de Nyanza and Nonas, which is a collection of former national team players. Female clubs in the fray include APR, UNR, Ruhango, Lycee de Nyanza and defending champions RRA.
In the national volleyball league, APR (men) currently holds a five-point lead over UNR, who have a game in hand.
In the ladies category, RRA are three points clear of APR.
