Karongi district are through to the quarter finals of the inaugural Umurenge Kagame Cup after beating Ngororero on penalties.

With scores poised at 1-1 after normal time, the hosts pipped Ngororero on penalties (7-6).  After the match, the district vice mayor in charge of social affairs Dative Simbi lauded the team for reaching the last eight.
