Editor,
I read in your esteemed publication that Kigali City Council will re-tarmac many city roads. I’ve seen that they are doing so, along the Nyamirambo and Kacyiru-Nyabugogo roads. I highly commend them for this.
However, I wonder if they have any plans on doing something about the dire state of the Kimihurura road going past the Ombudsman’s office into the neighbourhood known locally as ‘Ku-kiministri’.
Every end of the month, during the neigborhood ‘umuganda’ the people living around here try to fill the potholes with dirt, stone and sometimes brick.
However, this causes the potholes to become even wide and the road more damaged. I’m left to wonder when the City engineers will finally do something about this scandal. Because that is what this is; it is scandalous that a road such as this one is in such a terrible stat.
