KIGALI - Education Minister, Charles Murigande, has appealed to students under this year’s Rwanda Presidential Scholarship Programme (RPSP) to be disciplined and utilize the opportunity to help build a better country.

Murigande made the call, Friday, while meeting 66 students under this year’s RPSP, scheduled to join various universities in the US this academic year.

"You have got a chance…take full advantage of it. Work hard and never forget your families and the country,” Murigande said.

He appealed to them to be good ambassadors and not to be seduced by life in the west. He also advised them to register with the embassy so as to take part in the August 9 Presidential elections.

20 students are joining Oklahoma Christian University (OCU), 10 of them pursuing Masters Degrees.
 Other 30 students are joining Hendrix College and Consortium and 16 others will join the California Baptist University (CBU).

Of the15 girls on this year’s RPSP, three will be pursuing post graduate degrees.

The total number of students under the programme so far, is 219. All the students pursuing undergraduate degrees are majoring in sciences and technology.
