GATSIBO – A nurse at Kiziguro Hospital in Gatsibo district was, last week, arrested and detained at Kiramuruzi Police Post for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl in Agakomeye cell, Kiziguro sector.

According to Police sources, Charles Byamukama, 25, was arrested after committing the crime. The victim is a child of a  neighbour to the accused.

‘He lured the young girl with Rwf100. We got a tip off from residents and found the victim crying outside Byamukama’s house,’ police told The New Times.

When The New Times visited the scene, residents were still shocked at the incidence.

It is unbelievable. How could a nurse defile such a juvenile? He should be punished seriously,’ one resident said.
