UDPR members train on justice and genocide ideology

RUSIZI — Party members of Rwandan People’s Democratic Union (Union démocratique du peuple rwandais, UDPR) have been urged to promote Justice and fight against genocide ideology.

The call was made by Gonzaga Rwigema, the party Treasurer who presided over the training of 120 party members that took place at Ten to Ten Paradise Hotel in Kamembe sector, Rusizi district.

Participants were drawn from both Rusizi and Nyamasheke districts.

During the training, members were told that political parties are not meant to divide and create enmity but they are rather aimed at looking on how to promote development and good leadership in the country.

"Though all of us who are here are UDPR party members but you should also remember that political parties in our country are not meant to divide people but to instead help each other on how the nation can develop economically, socially, spiritually and politically” Rwigema urged.

The trainees were also urged to be ambassadors of peace, unity and reconciliation in their various places of their residence.

They were also requested to promote good governance, democracy and human rights in the region.

The workshop was organized by UDPR management and the trainees were also highlighted on the rules and regulations that govern political parties in the country.
