Editor,
The news that the National University of Rwanda (NUR) has unveiled five new postgraduate programmes to be run in Kigali and the University main campus in Huye, Southern Province is extremely pleasing. This will bring the number to 19 the postgraduate programmes currently offered.
These new programmes introduced include M.Sc in Field Epidemiology, Laboratory and Management Training Programme, M.Sc in Biodiversity and conservation, M.A in Development Studies, M.Sc Business Management and M.Sc Applied Mathematics.
This news is great because these programmes will give us, the people who work full time, an opportunity to further our education. Progress like this shows that the Rwandan education sector is improving.
Eventually, I fully expect NUR to be able to offer PhD’s in various disciplines as well. This is commendable.
