CHAMPIONS AS Kigali bounced back from defeat to Inyemera last week in dramatic fashion with an 8-0 thumping of hapless Rubavu at Nengo playground.
Star striker Mefya Hakizimana took her tally to 29 goals after recording her third hat-trick of the season.
Shadia Uwamahirwe and Anne Marie Ibangarye weighed in with two goals each while defender Jolie Mbarushimana put an end to the rout with a clever finish to maintain the club’s two-point lead over APR who were also unstoppable as they put seven goals past Ruhango at Ferwafa playground.
Ugandan striker Anatholie Nirere scored a hatrick while Aman Mbikeka, Aimee Flora Tuyizere and Jeannette Umulisa all scored a goal each.
Inyemera and Aspej got default points against Bugesera and Les Lioness respectively after both clubs failed to turn up for unclear reasons while Muhoza edged out Rambura 2-1.
With four games remaining, AS Kigali top the standings while APR, GSSR and Inyemera follow in second, third and fourth spots respectively.
